The mission of the Development Alternatives Group is to promote inclusive, equitable and resilient national development, through the creation of sustainable livelihoods on a large scale. Through clean technology packages, micro-enterprise solutions and collaborative institutional ecosystems, we bridge practice and policy, and work with partners to mobilize widespread action to eradicate poverty and regenerate the environment. DA's work addresses the three poly-crises of our times - Jobs, Resources and Climate - through impact in three areas: Livelihood Security & Inclusive Entrepreneurship, Resource Efficiency & Circular Economy and Climate Change & Ecosystem Restoration. The organization has built up a strong capacity to identify priority issues confronting the nation and devise effective ways to solve them. It brings together over 120 professionals with a wide range of skills and backgrounds but a common, spirited commitment to excellence and teamwork.

Jawaharlal Nehru University is the foremost university in India, and a world-renowned centre for teaching and research established by an act of Parliament in 1966. Ranked number one in India by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a Grade Point of 3.91 (on a scale of 4), JNU was ranked no 3 among all universities in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework, Government of India, in 2016 and no. 2 in the years 2017-2020. JNU also received the Best University Award from the President of India in 2017. Several academic Centres of the university have been declared by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to be ‘Centres of Excellence’. JNU itself has been given the status of the ‘University of Excellence’ by the UGC. At present there are ten Schools and four Special Centres in the University. The National Institution Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2020 rankings for higher education institutes has announced JNU as the 2nd best University and 8th best institute in overall ranking in India. Many members of faculty and research scholars have won prestigious national and international awards for their academic work. A number of academic associations are headed by our faculty. Our expertise is highly sought after by the Government and many members of our faculty have served the Government of India in various capacities including as Ambassadors/ High Commissioners, and members of the important bodies like the Planning Commission. Many of our faculty members have also served and serve as Vice Chancellors of other universities. JNU has collaborated with universities across the world in research projects, conferences, and publications. It has many active MoUs with international and national universities and exchanges faculty and students with them regularly. We also host the Indian segment of some international degree programs.

The Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), an intensive one-year fulltime programme for experienced professionals, leading to an MBA, is created specifically for professionals with remarkable track records and 5 to 15 years of work experience in a wide range of industries. The EPGP provides students with the same solid foundation in key management concepts and disciplines as a two-year MBA, with similar rigor, range of electives, and grading criteria. A key advantage of the EPGP is that the coursework builds on the diverse and extensive work experience of the students. In today’s volatile and competitive economic environment, companies face an increasing need for skilled mid-level and senior executives who have the vision and potential to attain top leadership positions. While deep functional and operational expertise is a prerequisite for such executives, their success is also contingent on their ability to perceive and analyze a situation from multiple perspectives and take timely and effective action.
