Rencraft focuses on renaissance and celtic items: costume accessories, jewelry and items of both functional and decorative use. We utilize classical styles, designs and methods of construction and execution. Our pieces are designed for the Ren Faire enthusiast, The SCA player or member of similar organizations, those planning a period themed wedding or other special event, those who are interested in Celtic design, or anyone who simply enjoys classical style and superb craftsmanship. In our own creations, we specialize in metal piercework, especially patterns incorporating celtic and other forms of interlace or 'knotwork', and the combination of metalwork with leather and other materials (velvet, wood, horn, antler, gemstones, etc). Of particular interest to us in our metalwork are the various techniques of 'cold-connecting', or 'mechanical connection', wherein no solder or chemical bonding is used to assemble the pieces. Not only is this an ancient method of design and construction, but one which brings an unequalled elegance to the work, while at the same time allowing for extreme detail and lasting beauty. Cold-connection is a technique which makes each piece well and truly unique. In addition to our own designs, we also offer a wide selection of items from other manufacturers. We are able to provide these items to you at a much better price than if we were to make them ourselves. The quality and detail of these pieces is of the highest standards, and they fit very well with any of our own designs. Here at Rencraft, our goal is to create and provide pieces that stand the test of time, both in design as well as in construction. We are dedicated to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
