Rehabilitation For Wisconsin in Action Information

Rehabilitation for Wisconsin in Action, Inc. (RFW in Action) is a statewide, nonprofit membership organization which supports and promotes the interests of community rehabilitation programs (CRPs) that enable people with disabilities and economic disadvantages to live and work in their local communities. RFW in Action's 58 member organizations provide services for more than 75,000 citizens with disabilities and economic disadvantages and employ more than 10,000 staff members throughout Wisconsin. The CRPs and other organizational members of RFW in Action offer services designed to assist people with disabilities and economic disadvantages to become more independent in their local communities. Typical member organizations offer prevocational and job placement services and many offer other community-based services. For example, 22 of our member organizations also provide residential or supportive living services to people with developmental disabilities. Some RFWIA members provide early intervention for children with developmental delays aged birth to three, transition services for special education students moving from high school to adult life, and/or coordination of medical services for people receiving Medicaid and Medicare. Many members also provide day activity programs for adults with disabilities, including older adults with Alzheimer’s.
