Twenty three year old Syrian refugee, Omar Alshakal, founded Refugee4Refugees because having fled war in Syria himself, he now wants to support other refugees going through the same journey. Alshakal sought to create an organisation that addresses the needs and concerns of refugees, while also encouraging other refugees to get involved in their work and take the lead in relief efforts. Refugee4Refugees is currently based in Lesvos, providing humanitarian assistance to refugees arriving by boat. Additionally the NGO provides support to people still living in Syria and Turkey. Clothes are being distributed to children living as refugees in this region.
