REFL3X is building reflex architecture for real-world robotics. Today’s AI systems — including LLMs and other high-level planning models — are powerful, but intelligence alone is not enough. In the physical world, systems fail at the boundary between software and reality: contact, friction, slip, overload, collision, and sensor degradation. Biology solved this long ago. Humans do not rely on reasoning alone to move safely — we rely on nerves, reflexes, and a spinal control layer that reacts before higher cognition can catch up. REFL3X applies that same principle to robotics. We design deterministic, physically grounded control architectures that sit between intelligence and actuation, ensuring autonomous systems remain stable, safe, and reliable even when planners are wrong, delayed, or operating under uncertainty.
