Refining Purpose is dedicated to empowering individuals impacted by the foster care system and students experiencing chronic stress to embrace self-sufficient productive lives. We utilize our platform to bring awareness to pressing social issues and advocate for the rights of adoptees, foster youth and transitional age youth. Our video-podcasts encourage intellectual open-mindedness and deep discussions that highlight the stories of diverse professionals and important issues impacting our society. The goal of these discussions is to bridge a professional network dedicated to our clients and mission. From struggling to reconnect with their biological families, to lacking mental health services, people impacted by the foster care system find themselves encountering complex challenges that require delicate and unique support. Our organization also understands that students experiencing chronic stress are likely to be in a constant state of hyperarousal and at risk of dropping out of school. Essentially, research highlights how each of these groups encounter adverse childhood experiences leading to lasting impact on their mental health. Bringing awareness to resources and breaking the stigmas associated with these individuals is vital to effectively streamlining support. Refining Purpose is committed to bridging these gaps by utilizing our platform to shed light on these populations and providing evidence-based support groups and workshops for participants to process trauma, establish commonality, network with professionals and ultimately to find purpose. We believe that a safe place to connect, share experiences, and enhance professional development is key to cultivating empowerment, self-sufficiency and resilience.
