The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), a non-profit leader in the fight against cancer since 1931, enables research, educates the public and advocates for and supports all people affected by cancer, while leading SA towards a cancer-free society. It’s mission as a non-profit fighting cancer, is to enable research, educate the public and advocate for and support all people affected by cancer.
The South African Medical Association (SAMA) is a non-statutory, professional association for public and private sector medical practitioners.
Registered as an independent and non-profit company, SAMA acts as a trade union for its public sector members and as a champion for doctors and patients.
On behalf of its members, the Association strives for a health care dispensation that will best serve their needs.
SAMA membership is voluntary, with some 70% of public and private sector doctors in South Africa currently registered as members of SAMA.

SADAG was established twenty years ago to serve as a support network for the thousands of South Africans who live with mental health problems. Currently, it is estimated that 1 in 5 people will, or do, suffer from a mental illness. SADAG manages a 16-line counselling-and-referral call centre, and is the voice of patient advocacy, working in urban, peri-urban, and the most rural communities across South Africa.
