RedCAT provides a pathway of technical business consultancy, financial and R & D support to accelerate the commercialisation of low carbon technologies - an initiative developed by East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and now delivering across the UK. The problem - The UK is a wonderful place for green tech innovation with quality Higher Education Institution supporting new low carbon product inventions R & D. However full commercialisation of those innovative clean tech products, with focus on creation of manufacturing plants, supply chains, green jobs, and exporting of the finished low carbon technology - to solve our global climate problems and bring UK economic benefit - is severely constrained. RedCAT provides expert business support: – technology viability assessments; market and competitor analysis; and commercialisation support, while also identifying: – demonstrator opportunities, future manufacturers and supply chain members. Our role is - Building end to end commercialisation funding and expert scale up support for low carbon technologies, to accelerate the lean manufacture, adoption and export of green technologies and drive the government mission for the UK to become a clean energy superpower. Outputs -technologies manufactured, sold, exported, inward green tech investment secured, jobs safeguarded and created. Outcomes - to drive local economic recovery and resilience, secure economic success for the UK in a growing international market and support the global response to climate change. Results – Turning £3 Million of government capital grant and funded revenue for green tech consultancy support in 3 years into – •£30 Million+ of sales and inward low carbon investment (target £1.5M @ 3 yrs, £15M @ 10 years) • 46 new products being manufactured (target 6 products @ 3yrs, 30 @ 10 years) •300+ jobs safeguarded, and new jobs created. (30 within 3 years) Our aim is commercialisation-if the product isn’t on a shelf with a price tag, we aren’t finished.
