The Rutland County Solid Waste District is a union municipal district formed in 1979 for the purpose of providing solid waste disposal services. Our Vermont member towns are Brandon, Castleton, Clarendon, Danby, Hubbardton, Ira, Killington, Mendon, Mount Tabor, Mt. Holly, Pittsford, Pittsfield, Poultney, Proctor, Rutland City, Wallingford, Wells and West Rutland.
REGIONAL TRANSFER STATION
We manage the Regional Transfer Station at 14 Gleason Road in Rutland, Vermont. Our disposal programs include household recycling, food scrap composting, scrap metal, hazardous waste, electronics, leaf & yard debris and general municipal solid waste among others.
