Recreational Enterprises, Inc., is located in Laurel, Maryland. We chose this location because of its easy access to major highways and the fact that it is geographically centered in the Greater Baltimore/Washington DC Metropolitan area. Having a central location such as Laurel greatly reduces the travel time for our Field Supervisors and Service Technicians. We have major suppliers located in Forestville MD, Columbia MD, Silver Spring MD, as well as Springfield VA. This eases the burden of transporting supplies and equipment to our various jobsites in a timely manner. Our company utilizes wireless technologies and the Internet to keep our Field Supervisors and Service Technicians in constant contact with our management team. Maintaining a mobile workforce allows our management team to be in the field coaching and working with our employees. We, also, utilize a computerized Time and Attendance System to track the status of pool openings and closures. This allows us to be pro-active in spotting any potential staffing issues. We utilize international students when we believe it would be beneficial to all the parties involved. Our staff is made up of approximately 25% International Students. It is our belief that these cultural exchange programs should be used to augment staffing but should not be relied upon to makeup our staffing pool. We believe that fair wages to all employees along with effective motivation techniques ensures we have the proper amount of staff during the entire year. We provide most of our training in-house. Our Training Department includes certified full time Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructors not summer hires or independent contractors. This ensures our guards maintain the highest skill level, even in the off-season, which keeps many team members poolside year-round.
