Kibana does a great job at beautifully visualizing the data we collect in Elasticsearch. However, when an additional tenant (i.e. department or product team) wants to visualize their data in Kibana, the operator has to create a new, dedicated Elasticsearch cluster. This is undesirable, since maintaining multiple small clusters is operationally very expensive, and wasteful of hardware and human resources. ReadonlyREST is the security plugin that levels Kibana up, enabling multi-tenancy. Today, thanks to ReadonlyREST, hundreds of organizations are saving money by segregating the data of many tenants into a single, larger, evenly loaded Elasticsearch cluster.
