FoodCorps is a national nonprofit advancing child well-being through food in school. FoodCorps partners with students, families, and communities to champion nourishing food at local, state, and national levels. Our AmeriCorps members support schools in providing nutritious meals, locally-informed food education, and welcoming school environments that set kids up for positive, vibrant relationships with food. Building on this program, we develop leaders, grow networks, and advocate for policies in service of every kid’s health and well-being. FoodCorps is working toward a world where, by 2030, all 50 million public school students have access to food education and nourishing meals in school. Learn more at www.foodcorps.org.
Farmer and family-owned since 1984, Earthbound has built a legacy as innovators in organic farming. We were among the first to adopt automated harvesters, to harness renewable energy, and to utilize drones that release plant-friendly insects to help grow our greens, naturally. Today, our aim is to make organic produce more accessible to everyone, while magnifying its global benefits. This means promoting biodiversity, protecting habitats, and restoring healthy soil for future generations. We’re committed to doing right by people and the Earth.
GrowNYC is a hands-on non-profit with a mission to empower all New Yorkers with equitable access to fresh, locally grown food and neighborhood green spaces, reduce waste, and care for the environment.
GrowNYC was originally created in 1970 as the Council on the Environment of New York City (CENYC). Born out of the spirit of the first Earth Day, CENYC was initially a policy-based organization, writing comprehensive reports about quality of life issues like air quality, traffic, and noise.
Today, we serve over 3 million New Yorkers annually through a robust network of sustainability programs and resources. Our programs focus our efforts on four key areas: Food Access & Agriculture, Green Spaces, Zero Waste and Education.
Since 1970, GrowNYC has been rolling up its sleeves alongside NYC residents to:
- Provide access to healthy, fresh, local food for all New Yorkers
-Grow and maintain vibrant green spaces and community gardens.
-Help New Yorkers recycle more and reduce waste.
-Create the next generation of environmental leaders through hands-on education programs.
