One customer said “The Honda Civic GX runs on a tank of CNG, compressed to 3,600 psi. There could be a fantastic market for your home compressor to do this - particularly in Southern California. An efficient low-cost home compressor would be something I would welcome here too”. The compressor can upgrade biogas into 99% biomethane to sell into the gas grid and separate & capture CO2 during gas compression. Markets: The combination of the electrolyser and compressor will unlock £20 billion/year global hydrogen market. 1st Market: Onsite Production Hydrogen and Oxygen: £500 million/ year-UK. 2nd Market: Gas compression: £1billion/year-UK. Biomethane gas upgrading=£250 million UK. 3rd Market: Smart Grid and Energy Storage: currently £360 million/year-UK, up to £1 billion/ year by 2015-UK.
