"The Woman Behind Textweek.com," Faith and Leadership, 2013. I am an amateur scholar of Church History and Biblical Studies, a 1984 graduate of Saint Paul School of Theology (United Methodist) in Kansas City, and a 1980 graduate of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After working in a variety of ministry settings, I studied Biblical Studies, Early Christianity and/or Textual Criticism informally, and was planning pursuing a career in higher education after taking some time off from formal ministry & study to start a family. I'm Mama to two "children": 33 old Jaie and 29 old Philip. Jaie is a post-doctoral researcher at The Univerisity of Michigan, after graduating with a PhD in biological physics from Harvard University. Phil works part time as a computer technician and circuit board solderer. He is also profoundly disabled by autism. The financial, physical and emotional energy that goes into my son's care has precluded further formal education for me, and this web-project is an attempt to fill some of that void. I am a double-bass and electric bass player and like watching DVD movie commentaries, knitting and listening to audiobooks in my spare time. About The Text This Week: This site features a wide variety of resources for study and liturgy based on the 3-year Revised Common Lectionary* cycle. I intentionally include a diverse variety of resources for scripture study, reflection and liturgy, and purposefully do not restrict the resources to any particular theological/ideological position, including my own. The site is a work-in-progress. I spend between 40 and 60 hours each week updating links and finding more resources to link.
