Since 1910 we have been supplying world-leading essential dairy consumables. We also provide specialist footwear for the farming, fire, forestry and electricity markets, including our iconic Skellerup Red Band gumboot.
Auckland City Mission - Te Tāpui Atawhai supports Aucklanders in greatest need. Our services have evolved as the city’s social needs have done and we respond to these needs with care and compassion while advocating for a reality where there are: enough suitable homes, enough money for nutritious food and easily accessible health care for all.
Since our doors opened more than 100 years ago, this has been our ‘why’. We offer support for however long and in whatever way needed – for some people that’s simply accessing one of our many services, for others that’s a complex journey with our full support. Whether it's a specific issue that has led people to the Mission, the effects of the continuing poverty cycle, or a culmination of many problems, the Mission's is there to help.
With a vision to enhance lives, Foundation North holds in trust for the communities of Auckland and Northland an endowment, or pūtea, of around two billion dollars. This comes from the sale of the community’s shares in what was previously the Auckland Savings Bank. That perpetual endowment allows it to make around $50-60 million in grants each year to not-for-profit groups and community initiatives in Auckland and Northland.
Since it was founded as the community trust for Auckland and Northland in 1988, the Foundation has returned over $1.4 billion dollars in grants to the region.
