Epic Chemicals Company was founded by chemical industry executive Michael S. Buchanan. Mr. Buchanan has 30 years of experience in chemical industry as President, Vice President or Research Director. He has had a career of success in achieving profit and business growth objectives. He has worked in the saccharin (artificial sweetener), food additive, band cast extruded films, corrosion inhibitor, environmental consulting and polyurethane industries. He is familiar with flexible slab stock, elastomer, semi-rigid, rigid and spray foam technologies and formulations. His extensive business background in leading management teams in developing and marketing new products has produced seven patents. Mr. Buchanan has established joint ventures with China and Indonesia manufacturing chemicals to United States standards at a much lower cost. Mr. Buchanan's career has taken him all over the world for business. His latest joint venture involved building a saccharin plant in Indonesia with PT. Golden Sari. He has worked with chemical companies in India and has seen almost every saccharin plant in the world. Mr. Buchanan received his Masters from Johns Hopkins University and has been interested in chemistry since he was six.
