RAS Data Support was setup in 1995 by Alan Harper Smith and became a limited company in 1996. We began with a single client and specialised in developing strategic cost modelling tools and bespoke modelling of MS Excel software – which led onto providing training for companies in how to use the tools. As a result, Alan is a certified Adult Trainer and is a member of the Chartered Institute of IT (formerly British Computer Society) and the Learning & Performance Institute. The company then began supplying IT equipment as well as providing training and over time we evolved into a full IT consultancy offering a wide range of services from designing corporate infrastructures, supplying and installing equipment and providing IT support to companies as they grow. We now have over 200 clients ranging from private individuals to large companies, as well as supporting IT for a number of state and private schools. Alan Harper Smith also acts as Non-Executive IT Director for three companies. We work in partnership with a range of companies providing ADSL, telecoms, cabling/fibre, antivirus, internet/web design, hardware and software which enables us to offer a service that meets all IT business needs.
