Range Respite Project Information

We are the only agency in northern St. Louis County that exists for the benefit of family caregivers exclusively. Our programs complement rather than duplicate other community-based services. Since incorporating in 1992, one respite program has grown to include a wide variety of respite and support program choices. "Informal caregiver" and "family caregiver" are compatible terms that refer to unpaid persons such as spouses, children, parents and other relatives. Family caregivers have loved ones with illnesses or disabilities that require care ranging from minimal to 24-hour assistance, and with conditions such as muscular dystrophy, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, and multiple sclerosis. They can be primary or secondary caregivers, full or part time, and can either live with the person being cared for or live separately. They represent people of all ages and all walks of life. Without a doubt, they are invaluable assets in every family and community across the country. Range Respite spotlights family caregivers and advocates for them. Our programs help family caregivers to value and care for themselves which enables them to continue caring for their loved ones at home. We provide respite care and support across the lifespan.
