The Ram Fund is a student-managed equity fund at the University of Rhode Island, made possible by an initial investment of $100,000 by the URI Alumni Association. An important experiential learning program in the College of Business Administration, the Ram Fund gives students the opportunity to serve as real life equity research analysts and portfolio managers. Our objective to provide competitive long-term rates of return for the Alumni Association. The Ram Fund is an actively-managed small and mid-cap fund, with the Vanguard Extended Fund (VXF) as its benchmark. It is entirely-managed by its student participants - all buy and sell decisions are voted on by the students and only the students. Historically, the Ram Fund has focused on a value investing strategy.
