RAISE Uganda Information

RAISE Uganda Limited is a Rural Agro-enterprise Incubator based in Kole Distiict, Northern Uganda. We source agricultural commodities, currently sorghum and soybeans, from our network of smallholder producers, while working with their communties to enhance agricultural productivity and agricultural entrepreneurship skills. We operate using five-year outgrower schemes in rural communities, in which we distribute seeds and inputs to farmers on credit and then buy back the harvest, which we sell directly to large-scale, high-value buyers. In addition to providing input credit, we invest in outgrowers' productivity by supporting local microcredit networks and providing extension services, financial literacy and agricultural entrepreneurship trainings, and developing locally-owned marketing structures. Our investments in our outgrowers attract farmers and enhance their productivity, endowing us with a reliable, dynamic supply network.
