The Rainbow Foundation is a non governmental organisation established in 2004 by Mrs Koko Kalango. The Foundation was born out of the passion of Mrs Kalango’s desire to address critical literary issues in Africa, to encourage reading culture and promote African literature. The Rainbow Foundation is the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the Rainbow Group. It is registered in Nigeria as Rainbow Education for Advancement and Development Africa Foundation. We formerly abbreviated this to be called R.E.A.D. Africa Foundation but discovered the several groups where using READ AFRICA and this was therefore causing an identity and branding issue so we decided to call it the Rainbow Foundation for short. Building on its track-record of success over the past 8 years the Rainbow Foundation is committed to enhancing the scale, scope and effectiveness of its operations.
