We research and explore how we live and work together, revealing truths and uncovering injustices. Standing apart from governments, from business and vested interests, we use the full force of our wide ranging legal powers to defend everyone’s right to an equal chance in life. We work with our partners to come up with practical answers that get to the greatest good. We imagine a world where all lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, questioning and ace (LGBTQ+) people are free to be ourselves. Stonewall was founded in 1989 by a small group of people who wanted to break down barriers to equality.
