Wir sind einer von rund 500 Kreisverbänden im Deutschen Roten Kreuz. Wir sind ein Verband der Freien Wohlfahrtspflege sowie eine nationale Hilfsgesellschaft. Angeschlossen an den DRK Landesverband Sachsen e.V. sind wir Teil der globalen Rotkreuz- und Rothalbmondbewegung. . Im Zeichen der Menschlichkeit engagieren wir uns für das Leben, die Gesundheit, das Wohlergehen und die Würde aller Menschen. Unsere vielfältigen Angebote umfassen Alten- und Behindertenhilfe, Jugend- und Familienarbeit, Schwangerschafts-, Migrations- und Sozialberatung, Flüchtlingssozialarbeit und Erste-Hilfe-Ausbildung. Darüber hinaus betreibt unsere Tochtergesellschaft den Rettungsdienst in der Stadt Leipzig. . Mit über 400 hauptamtlichen Mitarbeitende sowie zahlreichen ehrenamtlichen Helferinnen sind wir täglich im Einsatz, um dort zu unterstützen, wo Hilfe dringend benötigt wird. Unsere Ehrenamtlichen engagieren sich in den Bereichen Bereitschaften, Wasserwacht, Gemeinschaftswohlfahrt und im Jugendrotkreuz.
