r6studio is a full service architecture firm, located in the historic Taber Building in downtown Elko, Nevada, committed to the sensible growth and sustainability of Northeastern Nevada. Catherine Wines, the owner and principle architect, is a native of Elko County and proud member of one of the regions oldest and largest families. Catherine earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1998 and went on to earn an additional Post-graduate Degree in Architecture from the University of Arizona in 2002. She received her Nevada registration and NCARB certifiacte in 2008. Shortly after that she opened r6studio. In 2015 Catherine purchased the historic Taber Building and operates her firm from one of it's second floor offices. She plans a complete historic restoration of the building. Progress of the restoration can be seen here. Besides being a full time architect, Catherine is a strong advocate for the arts and is active in development in the Elko community. She is the chairman of the Elko Arts and Culture Advisory Board, a member of the Elko Redevelopment Advisory Council and was recently placed on the Board of Directors for the Nevada Preservation Foundation, a state wide, non-profit organization, focused on preservation and restoration of buildings and historic sites.
