Quietus is a care coordination service for terminally ill New Yorkers considering medical aid in dying. On August 5, 2026, New York's Medical Aid in Dying Act takes effect, giving terminally ill New Yorkers a new, legally protected choice at the end of life. For many patients and families, it is hard to know where to begin. Founded by two veteran hospice clinicians, Quietus exists to guide them through the logistical complexities of the process with compassion and expertise. We handle every step. It begins with an in-depth clinical consultation, which includes guidance on other options for anyone who wishes to explore them. From there, Quietus coordinates every required certification and service, all handled by our network of independent, licensed clinicians. Our affiliated physicians can serve as the attending or consulting physician for certifying and prescribing aid in dying medications, and our psychologists can conduct the required mental health evaluation. In the days beforehand, we prepare patients and families for what lies ahead, and on the day itself our experienced clinicians attend in the home to support them. Throughout, we coordinate with all of the patient's other care providers, including hospice and care facilities. We serve patients and families across New York State, offering care that begins in the comfort of home. We believe a peaceful end, on one's own terms, is a matter of dignity.
