Quiddity is a critically acclaimed UK film production company, founded by BAFTA and BIFA-winning producer, Emily Morgan (The Settlers, I Am Not A Witch, Supernova). The company was launched with support from the BFI Vision Award in 2016. Following its debut feature film production - 2017’s award-winning title I Am Not a Witch - Quiddity continues to develop its slate of diverse film and TV projects with partners all over the world. The company is expanding in 2024 thanks to support from the BBC’s Small Indie Fund and the BFI’s Global Screen Fund. Recent feature films from the company include the Latin American co-production The Settlers, a revisionist Western directed by Felipe Gálvez, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival in 2023. The feature won the coveted FIPRESCI Prize, before going on to be Chile’s official submission for Best International Feature at the 2024 Academy Awards. Quiddity also recently produced an adaptation of Deborah Levy's Swimming Home, written and directed by Justin Anderson that premiered in competition at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and will screen in competition at Tribeca Film Festival in 2024. Quiddity’s upcoming releases include Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor’s BBC Film-backed debut feature Dreamers, and Butterfly - a recipient of BFI’s Global Screen Fund co-produced with Mer Film in Norway, Zentropa in Sweden, and Nordfilm in Germany. Previously, Quiddity produced Claire Oakley’s psychological thriller Make Up through the UK’s iFeatures scheme and Supernova by Harry Macqueen, starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci, which was screened in competition at San Sebastian and London Film Festival in 2020.
