The QZMS is a nonprofit that provides financial assistance and mentorship to female undergraduates from low-income families studying STEM subjects at the top universities in China, contribute to their local communities and have a global outlook. The scholarship includes RMB 5000/year until the end of their undergraduate studies, as well as one-on-one mentorship and participation in various group events focused on professional and personal development. As of spring 2018, the program has awarded 83 “school years” to 46 Scholars. Scholarship program founded by the daughter and in memory of civil engineer Ms. QIAN Zheng, Ph.D., who lost her battle with liver cancer in 1999. Candidates are chosen from among applicants from Yanxing (雁行, www.yanxing.org), a non-profit scholarship, mentorship and personal development organization catering low-income students at top universities in Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing. The QZMS is a proud partner of One World Children's Fund (http://www.oneworldchildrensfund.org/).
