QES Connect Ltd. is a Health & Safety and Quality Management Systems consultancy, based in Ipswich, Suffolk UK. We specialise in helping small to medium sized businesses (smes) in Suffolk, Norfolk and North Essex. While most of our consultancy work is carried out for manufacturing and engineering companies, we can also help with office based activities. Our clients include companies in manufacturing industry, hi-tech industries and service industries in east anglia and include small businesses as well as major companies. Our H&S services include risk assessments, control of substances hazardous to health (coshh) and noise assessments as well as development of health & safety policies and safety arrangements to HSG 65. Our connection with Health Initiatives provides professional occupational health assistance where the requirement is indicated from risk assessment. H & S law contains much legislation in specific areas such as chemical safety and control of hazardous substances and dangerous substances. The regulations may call for personal protective equipment (ppe) and other control measures to protect employees and others from hazardous chemicals. Other regulations cover provision and use of workplace equipment (puwer), lifting operations and lifting equipment (loler) and the need for manual handling assessments. Although seldom found in small enterprises, hazardous processes may well be operated by larger companies calling for specialised process hazard reviews.
