PWFERRETTO Information

PWFERRETTO approach to architecture can be explained as an experiment in reawakening a sense of wonder in the present environment. We think architecture should stimulate curiosity, bringing people to question their relationship with their surroundings. We work with context, not context simply understood as the physical environment surrounding the subject/project; rather context as the amalgamation of facts; political, cultural, sociological… that contribute to the diversity of the specific territory. One style definitely does not fit all. We are interested in designing spaces from the inside out and see architecture as a composition of rooms (public and private), where ambience and atmosphere create the spatial configuration of the project. With this concept in mind we generate architecture not by gratuitously sculpting form but rather by arranging rooms where form becomes a byproduct of this process. Our working method is based on physical model explorations and research. These two elements combine in a process that laboriously tests solutions rather than ingeniously conceiving them. PWFERRETTO was established in 2009 in London and the practice is now based in Seoul, Korea.
