A fortnightly magazine of culture and ideas, the London Review of Books is Europe’s leading literary publication. Unafraid of seriousness and controversy, it provides a space for writers of the stature of Colm Tóibín and Hilary Mantel, Jacqueline Rose and Seymour Hersh, to explore definitive issues in exhilarating detail. Recent essays on the killing of Osama bin Laden and the trial of Oscar Pistorius have upended established narratives with a fearlessness and a quality of writing that is unique in the English-speaking world. In a media landscape increasingly dominated by ‘long reads’, the London Review of Books remains the pre-eminent exponent of the intellectual essay as an art form in its own right, admired around the world by more than 75,000 subscribers.
