Purpose Driven Baseball Information

Through Purpose Driven Baseball teams, camps and clinics, players will receive excellent baseball instruction from current and former college and professional players and coaches. More importantly, players will be exposed to lessons beyond the sport. In our sports addicted culture, too often the performance of the sport is projected as the ultimate goal rather than the sport being used as a tool to teach valuable life lessons. Building leaders through an emphasis on character development is our passion. We intentionally focus on teamwork, self discipline, friendship, hard work, determination, courage, patience, and dealing with disappointment and failure as we interact with players in our programs. Purpose Driven Baseball is a division of With Purpose International. We believe that we should take meaning and purpose to sports rather than trying to obtain meaning and purpose from sports. We feel that our purpose in life is rooted in, established by and sustained through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and that shapes the character needed for true leaders. We define Character as "The inward motivation to do the right thing to highest standard of behavior-(God's Standard) in every situation". Beginning with our first camp in January '08, Purpose Driven Baseball has been privileged to have notable coaches and former MLB players help us with camps and clinics locally and internationally: Trot Nixon (former Red Sox World Series Champion), Scott "Emo" Emerson (Current MLB pitching coach for Oakland A's), Tim Hyers (Hitting Coach for Boston Red Sox), Adam Warren (Current NY Yankee), Ray Tanner (former USC and USA coach), Mike Fox (UNC head coach), Mark Scalf (UNCW and USA coach), Pat Watkins (former MLB player with Reds, Rockies and Marlins), and Mike Mahoney (former MLB player with the Cubs and Cardinals), Trent Mongero (Author of Winning Baseball) and many others.
