At PureFish our passion is about great seafood. PureFish, founded in 2002 began as an attempt to change the direction of our seafood industry. After years in the commodity seafood business, the founders came to the realization that the seafood products presently in the market, were based on large scale fisheries and farms that were more concerned about the bottom line and higher production, than the future of their fisheries, and the environment. After years of traveling and visiting with aquaculture farmers and small scale wild fisheries, we were invigorated to see that there was a small select group of farmers and fisherman that still adhered to the same principles of sustainability and long term environment protection that had given their families generations of bounty. Their focus was on the "fish" first and foremost. PureFish's vision and strategy is to assist these small farms and fisheries bring their products to market and to showcase their efforts as sustainability and environmental stewards. To provide discerning chefs and consumers with a sustainable alternative, which also provides a higher quality product with superior taste and health benefits as well. All of PureFish select farms and fisheries adhere the following principles for the products they produce: Environmental Sustainability, All Natural and/or Organic Rearing for aquaculture, and full traceability with 3rd party audits and certifications. With so much misinformation in the seafood sector, PureFish prides itself with working with 3rd party certification bodies. Our farms and fisheries are certified and audited by 3rd party companies that include: Friend of the Sea, Organic Food Federation, Naturland, RSPCA Freedom Food, & GAP to ensure the validity and traceability of our producers and their products to our customers and the consumer.
