Arts Umbrella is Canada's leading not-for-profit arts education organization for children and youth with locations on Granville Island and in Surrey Centre. Through programs in Art & Design, Dance, and Theatre, Music & Film, we deliver nationally and internationally recognized programs that inspire young people ages 2–22 to live creative, authentic, and courageous lives. Each year, we serve more than 20,000 young people across Metro Vancouver and beyond, with nearly 80% participating at no cost thanks to donor-supported programs, scholarships, and bursaries. Our impact extends across 135 Community Program partner locations, including schools, community centres, neighbourhood houses, healthcare facilities, and remote Northern communities. Established in 1986 as a resource centre for dance professionals and the public in British Columbia, The Dance Centre is a multifaceted organization offering a range of activities unparalleled in Canadian dance. Our goal is to support the development of a vibrant dance scene in BC and increase the profile of dance, by providing resources and services for the dance profession; presenting public performances and events; operating one of Canada’s flagship dance facilities; and promoting BC dance. The Dance Centre is a non-profit organization and a registered charity.

Founded in 1986 by David Y. H. Lui, Jean Orr and Sheila Begg, with Annette av Paul as first Artistic Director, the company has been under the artistic direction of Reid Anderson, Patricia Neary and Barry Ingham, followed by John Alleyne for 17 years and Emily Molnar for 11. As of July 2020, the company is proudly under the directorship of Medhi Walerski. Ballet BC is an internationally acclaimed collaborative and creation-based contemporary ballet company that is a leader and resource in the creation, production and education of contemporary dance in Canada. Bold and innovative, the Company’s distinctive style and approach has made a unique and valuable national contribution to the development of dance. In 2019, the Company was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production for their tour to Sadler’s Wells in London.
