Pueblos Blancos Music Fest #7 is July 25-28, 2024, in Andalusia Spain. 4 days of free concerts & cultural exchanges, featuring bands & artists from Texas, Spain, & all over the world, playing music in one of the most beautiful & unique areas on Earth; the spectacular, eons-old mountain-top villages of Andalusia (southern Spain); a magical area steeped in history & mythology, with amazing food & wines you rarely find outside the region! On wonderful outdoor stages in the magnificent ancient villages of Ronda ("The City of Dreams"), Montejaque, Olvera & Cortes de la Frontera. In our 1st 5 years we have brought over 100 bands to the ancient mountain villages of Andalusia Spain (over 40 from Texas & others from all over the world. (musicians from more than 30 countries/6 continents.) We create cross-cultural connections that have created a world-wide family & birthed many international art projects. We’ll also soon be announcing a film festival & a gourmet food/wine/spirits fest, centered in Spain. I refer to this and the other fiestas we are planning, as "Slow Fests" in that most visitors stay in areas that are not over-visited, for an extended time, so they can see some of the many sights & get to know the communities, instead of overwhelming the area with huge numbers of people who come for a very short time just to attend the concerts. I feel this model is more sustainable for the communities, has less impact on the environment & also works well in the era of pandemic. Also wonderful how visitors & musicians have come to see the area where our festival is held, as a home; many visit outside the fest dates now too. We also encourage international travelers to visit smaller cities; for instance, in the USA, we’re seeing many international travelers going to less-visited towns like Brownsville TX, because of the bands from Brownsville they met in Spain at PBMF.
