Conceived over 60 years ago as one of the nation’s first nonprofit theaters, The Public has long operated on the principles that theater is an essential cultural force and that art and culture belong to everyone. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham, The Public’s wide breadth of programming includes an annual season of new work at its landmark home at Astor Place, Free Shakespeare in the Park at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park, the Mobile Unit touring throughout New York City’s five boroughs, Public Works, Public Shakespeare Initiative, and Joe’s Pub. Since premiering HAIR in 1967, The Public continues to create the canon of American Theater and is currently represented on Broadway by the Tony Award-winning musical Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Their programs and productions can also be seen regionally across the country and around the world. The Public has received 60 Tony Awards, 190 Obie Awards, 57 Drama Desk Awards, 61 Lortel Awards, 36 Outer Critics Circle Awards, 13 New York Drama Critics’ Circle Awards, 62 AUDELCO Awards, 6 Antonyo Awards, and 6 Pulitzer Prizes. The Moth is a global storytelling nonprofit with the mission to inspire people to listen and share openly, think and feel deeply, and expand their understanding of one another through personal storytelling. Since 1997, The Moth has presented more than 70,000 true stories—told live and without notes—in 11 countries, across 4 continents. Today, The Moth produces 600+ live shows annually, as well as the Peabody Award-winning The Moth Radio Hour, and the popular The Moth Podcast. Through workshops for students, educators, adults, advocates, and professionals, The Moth guides thousands of new storytellers each year in finding and sharing their own voices.

Urban Arts is the national nonprofit that teaches digital game design as a pathway to college and career, offering free instruction for students to open doors in STEM and the arts. Urban Arts uses games as education, and the power of play to unlock opportunity. Our custom curriculum Game On by Urban Arts is endorsed by the College Board and offered nationally. Our free Game Academy in NYC serves local students year-round. Urban Arts provides free, robust college-access services, garnering 100% college acceptance and over $71 million in scholarships. Students and alumni are connected to mentorships and networking opportunities at leading media and technology companies, generating a new talent pipeline and a more equitable future.
