PLN has a long history in electricity industry of Indonesia. As the sole provider of electricity in Indonesia, PLN is striving to increase quality of services to all Indonesian.
In 1972, in accordance with Government Regulation No.17, the State-owned Electricity Company was enacted as a State-owned General Electricity Company and as PKUK responsible to provide electricity to meet public needs. While the Government policy was giving opportunity to the Private Sectors to focus on the provision of electricity, the status of PLN was changed from a General Company to Corporation’ as well as PKUK in providing electricity for public needs until the present.
Throughout the 75 years of journey, PT PLN (Persero) has succeeded in becoming one of the companies with the largest assets in Indonesia of IDR 1,589 Trillion (PT PLN (Persero) Financial Report 2020 Audited).
Medco E&P Indonesia, a subsidiary of Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, is dedicated to oil and gas operations in Indonesia, with a focus on upstream activities such as exploration, development, and production of crude oil and natural gas. The company manages a total of 15 oil and gas assets in Indonesia, of which 12 are currently in production. In 2023, these assets exceeded production targets, contributing 143 mboepd. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards and best practices throughout our operations.
We continue to make progress on our ESG commitments. In 2023, we have implemented 41 GHG emission reduction initiatives through process optimization, fuel gas reduction, reducing fugitive emissions, and improving energy efficiency with lighting replacement and solar PV installation, such as in Matak (150 kWp) and Bronang Platform (11.5 kWp). These initiatives resulted in a reduction of 147,963 tCO2e/year, with a one-time reduction of 94,860 tCO2e from well cleanup & testing flare reduction. We are currently progressing CCS studies at the Natuna, Corridor and South Sumatera PSCs. We also planted 143,883 trees across our sites, and committed to their maintenance.
United Tractors (UT/the Company) is the leading and the largest distributor of heavy equipment in Indonesia, providing products from world-renowned brands such as Komatsu, UD Trucks, Scania, Bomag, Tadano, and Komatsu Forest.
We are a company with a long history. Established on October 13th, 1972, the Company reached an important milestone on September 19th, 1989, by listing its shares in Jakarta and Surabaya Stock Exchange as PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR), with PT Astra International Tbk as the majority shareholder. This initial public offering marked the United Tractors’ commitment to becoming the world-class solution-driven company in heavy equipment, mining, and energy for the benefit of stakeholders.
Today, our vast distribution network includes 19 branch offices, 22 site support offices, and 11 representative offices in 22 provinces across the country. Not content with being the largest distributor of heavy equipment in the country, the Company also plays an active role in the field of mining contracting and has recently ventured into the coal mining business. UT conducted its businesses through three major business units known as Construction Machinery, Mining Contracting and Mining.
