Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that stands with girls to tear down barriers, save lives and build a world where equality for girls leads to progress for all. Across the globe, girls face more risks and fewer choices. Gains that took decades to secure — like staying in school, choosing if or when to marry or have children, and shaping their own futures — are under threat. And in conflict zones, girls are being deliberately attacked — killed in schools and homes, abducted, starved or recruited by armed groups — simply because they are girls. But girls aren’t backing down. They’re raising their voices and leading the fight for change. Plan backs girls to lead on what matters most: a quality education, access to clean water and enough to eat, safety from violence and the freedom to live out their childhood without being forced into marriage or motherhood. For over 85 years and with deep community roots, strong partnerships and decades of trust, Plan’s work saves lives in the moment and evolves with girls through every stage of life.

Global Volunteers is a private, non-profit, non-sectarian, non-governmental organization engaging short-term volunteers on micro-economic and human development programs in close partnership with local people worldwide. Working at the invitation and under the direction of local leaders, volunteers help create a foundation for world peace through mutual international understanding. Since 1984, Global Volunteers has engaged over 35,000 volunteers around the world on a variety of projects, including teaching, childcare, medical, community development, and construction and renovation. Volunteers can choose to volunteer from one to three weeks in the following locations: China, the Cook Islands, Cuba, Ecuador, Greece, Italy, Nepal, Peru, Poland, Portugal, St. Lucia, Tanzania, USA, and Vietnam.

Our Mission is to operate volunteer programs around the world in partnership with sustainable community initiatives, bringing people together to work side-by-side while sharing perspectives and fostering cultural understanding. We are an international nonprofit organization with no political or religious affiliations. Our Vision is of a world where people value cultures different from their own, are aware of global issues, and are empowered to effect positive change. Cross-Cultural Solutions is a social enterprise founded in 1995. Each year, thousands of people participate in our volunteer programs in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. CCS has a worldwide staff of over 200 people in 8 countries, with administrative offices also located in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. In the UK, CCS is a Registered Charity (No. 1106741) and a Registered Company Limited by Guarantee (No. 4991010). In Canada, CCS is a registered non-profit corporation (Federal Corporation No. 445810-9).
