Proxima is building a new standard: a sovereign and energy-efficient AI, hosted in Europe, for Europe, that guarantees data confidentiality. We are developing Proxima Chat and an AI API for organizations handling sensitive information (legal, IP, audit, industry, public sector) that cannot expose their data to non-European platforms. Our approach to reducing AI’s carbon footprint relies on several complementary levers: using smaller models when they are sufficient (without oversizing), intelligently routing requests to the right model at the right time, selecting and prioritizing energy-efficient cloud infrastructure with the best possible energy metrics, and, when available, valorizing waste heat.
