Proud Ground creates affordable homeownership opportunities for income-eligible households, which prevents displacement, supports long-term housing stability, and builds generaltional wealth. Through the Community Land Trust model, homes remain permanently affordable and every public and private dollar invested benefits the community in perpetuity. Our portfolio includes more than 600 homes across Multnomah, Lincoln, Washington, Clackamas, and Jackson counties in Oregon, as well as Clark County, Washington--making us the largest community land trust in the Pacific Northwest. We target our services to include income-eligible households, communities of color, first-time homeowners, and first-generation homeowners through intentional outreach, homebuyer education, down payment assistance, and long-term post-purchase stewardship. Proud Ground also is the only non-profit real estate brokerage in Oregon, and serves Washington, too. We are BIPOC-led at both the Executive Director and Board Chair levels. In addition, 75% of staff identify as BIPOC, and 33% are bilingual in Spanish. This leadership composition ensures organizational decisions are informed by lived experience and cultural competency. Governance is structured to elevate community voice through a tripartite board model of which a minimum with at least one-third of board seats held by Proud Ground homeowners.
