Launched in January 2026, Protocol is an Australian youth-led technology policy lab. Our mission is to empower university students and young people to help shape the national conversation on technology policy in Australia, through our events, publications and Policy Research Program. Protocol engages with some of the most pressing issues at the intersection of technology and society, including AI safety, the environmental impact of AI, cybersecurity, privacy, and quantum innovation. We believe Protocol’s unique interdisciplinary, youth-led perspective will play a critical role in helping Australia understand and respond to the societal impacts of emerging technologies.
