PROTO is for everyone who cares about making journalism work. As a social institution, yes. But just as importantly, as a consumer product and an impact business. We are learning & development media — community experiences, applied research, case-based content — inducing intrapreneurship in newsrooms. Our community of journalists, researchers, developers and designers is the makerspace in an ecosystem that can’t afford a. resources for the development of talent, and/or b. the fallout of risky experiments. Our work is supported by member newsrooms and civic-minded sponsors invested in the future of digital — technologies, tools, data and media — as a driver of impact around media’s credibility, adaptability, sustainability.
