ProteomicFx Information

ProteomicFx provides in vivo small-molecule profiling for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical communities. The core technology is licensed from MIT's Whitehead Institute, and the company is funded by Bayesian Ventures. Unlike traditional kinase screening assays, ProteomicFx's Kohde Kinase Assay is performed inside a living human cell. There are numerous benefits to data generated on the ProteomicFx platform, such as an immediate determination if your early lead compounds can cross the membrane, but the most powerful benefit is the relevance of the data. Physiological relevance: The Kohde Kinase Assay exploits the native affinity of HSP90 and kinases, a relationship that was detailed in two recent publications from the Lindquist lab (Cell 2012 and Nature Biotech 2013 [in press]). Since the main function of HSP90 is to stabilize client proteins, the Kohde Kinase Assay quantitatively interrogates the interaction between this chaperone and its favorite clients, kinases. By exploiting these reproducible interactions, the Kohde Kinase Assay is capable of determining the promiscuity of small molecules across the majority of the human kinome by systematically interrogating each kinase interaction with HSP90 in the presence or absence of a drug.
