ProScreen is a private company serving the entire United Kingdom. We are dedicated to reducing the incidence of cancer and other life threatening conditions. We currently focus on the prevention of Cervical cancer through annual screening. The loss of life and damage to health that these cancers cause is largely preventable, and our clients can be sure that by using our service they are making an informed choice to reduce their own risk of suffering from cervical or prostate cancer to an absolute minimum. The service we now offer has been developed from a programme which has been running successfully for eight years. We have put in place the people, systems and procedures to ensure that our clients receive the highest standards of service, and we are delighted to have members who come back to us year after year. It is important to state that we are fully supportive of the work of the NHS particularly in relation to the national screening programme for Cervical Cancer. This has has been very effective in reducing the incidence of Cervical Cancer and we urge any woman who chooses not to join ProScreen to continue in the NHS programme. Unfortunately however the NHS is not able to offer annual tests even though these have the potential to virtually eliminate cervical cancer, its reporting timetable leaves women with a worrying wait before they receive their results, and financial constraints create long delays in the introduction of new screening techniques and other advances.
