VOA is more than a nonprofit. We are a ministry of service committed to helping build brighter, more resilient futures.
Since 1896, we have served communities across the country through hundreds of human service programs, including housing, health care and support for veterans, people experiencing homelessness, people with disabilities, individuals returning from incarceration and those in recovery.
Today, more than 15,000 professionals and thousands of volunteers help VOA serve people in communities across the country. Our purpose remains the same: providing compassionate care today so communities can flourish tomorrow.
Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) provides immediate, effective, and comprehensive employment services exclusively to people recently released from incarceration. CEO currently operates in over 30 cities and is dedicated to ensuring that justice-impacted job seekers have opportunities to achieve socioeconomic mobility.
The Fortune Society’s mission is to support successful reentry from incarceration and promote alternatives to incarceration, thus strengthening the fabric of our communities.
We do this by:
- BELIEVING in the power of individuals to change;
- BUILDING LIVES through service programs shaped by the needs and experience of our participants; and
- CHANGING MINDS through education and advocacy to promote the creation of a fair, humane, and truly rehabilitative correctional system.
