Project Ray is a Boston-area nonprofit that delivers custom 3D-printed toys to children in hospital care turning time in treatment into moments of play, creativity, and connection. We partner with leading pediatric health institutions, to place handcrafted toys directly in the hands of patients who need them. Every toy is made to order, designed around the individual child, and produced by a volunteer network of makers and engineers committed to using technology for good. Our model bridges the gap between the maker community and the medical community, demonstrating that innovation doesn't have to end in a lab. It can start with a child's smile. We are always looking to grow our network of makerspace partners, institutional collaborators, and volunteers who believe in the power of play.
