Project North is a not-for-profit organization passionately committed to enhancing and improving the lives of children in Canada's North. Our primary mission is to invest in Northern Youth, focusing on the Inuit youth of today and the future. We believe in the power of education, fitness, and community engagement as transformative tools for these young individuals. Our initiatives are community-based and national in scope, designed to generate opportunities that will have a lasting impact. We aim to provide comprehensive education and fitness programs that are not only beneficial but also culturally sensitive and relevant. We understand the unique challenges faced by children in these remote communities and strive to address these issues effectively. One of our key initiatives is the "Gear Up" program. This program encourages individuals and organizations to donate new hockey equipment. Each donation, regardless of its size, helps fill up a hockey bag that eventually finds its way to a child in the North. This initiative is not just about providing sports equipment; it's about promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and a sense of belonging among the children. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that we should leave a place better than we found it. We achieve this through enriching experiences based on play and education. We see children as the future stewards of their land and believe in equipping them with the tools and resources they need to enjoy their youth, be active, and develop a strong sense of community through sport and education. Our work has touched numerous communities across Canada's North. We are proud of the progress we've made but recognize that there's still much to be done.
