Project Excelsior Information

Project Excelsior provides an opportunity for EARLY ENRICHMENT learning centered on LITERACY and STEM for students in grades 4-8. Participants will experience a rigorous curriculum that is centered on coding, design, electrical engineering, and robotics with infused literacy instruction. Our signature program, Destination AP, involves a twice weekly meeting during the school year and a summer institute. Upon completion, students will be prepared for placement in academically stellar high school programs. Project Excelsior is a nonprofit education organization that promotes equitable educational outcomes for underrepresented and disadvantaged populations of young people. While not a religious organization, Project Excelsior’s core mission and values are based upon biblical principles taught by Jesus Christ where He exhorted His followers to advocate for “the least of these”, those who are powerless and lack the opportunities that are available and attainable for most. In as much as the youth in society have the least amount of power and influence to determine their future, the children of our communities embody the characteristics of those referenced in the Gospel of Matthew. Through sponsorship of domestic and international charitable programs Project Excelsior provides academic enrichment and tuition support for vulnerable populations of students. Project Excelsior spawned as a result of our passion to provide a viable solution to addressed the needs of students residing in underrepresented and disadvantaged communities who have the capacity to achieve at high levels, but need support through enrichment opportunities early in their scholastic development in order to ensure sustained growth and development. Our vision for Destination AP is to provide a rigorous 21st Century oriented instructional program that will prepare every participant for AP placement in high school.
