Background Towards the end of 2009 the five founders came together in response to the NNB market’s need for excellent project delivery on their huge new nuclear build projects in the UK. Recognising the challenges that had existed for many years in the Project Controls Function they determined to provide a new and significantly more effective solution. After developing their solution they quietly market tested its appeal. The results were positive and Projects Control Solutions Limited was born in the spring of 2010. Focus PCS is dedicated to providing excellence in project controls to the UK NNB market. We define the Project Controls Function as covering the management of the enterprise including its time, cost, risk, scope, resources, communications, QA/QC and the like. We support the mobilisation of the function and implement it in a manner whereby changes are controlled and contractual claims are mitigated. Mission and Values Our mission is to be in partnership with a select number of major players in the UK NNB market providing their high end project controls capability. We will shape and lead the project controls aspects of the UK NNB industry using leading experts and practitioners. We will be open, straight forward and honest; our staff will own the business and enjoy their work; and we will be exclusive, loyal and long term. Model Our staff share in the success of the business and are incentivised for long term high performance. We will create an exclusive club at the client, partner and staff levels. We employ leading experts and practitioners who have gained their experience through holding real accountability for project delivery.
