Project BUILD is a student-run Duke University pre-orientation program focused on community service in Durham area. BUILD stands for Building Undergraduate Involvement in the Life of Durham. Every year we construct our own community of upperclassmen crew leaders and first-year crewlettes. First-years and returning participants grow close as they visit a vast array of community service sites in Durham throughout the program. The diverse group of crew leaders are involved in the full spectrum of academic and co-curricular activities and also serve as mentors for first-years as they transition into their lives as Duke students and Durham residents.
