Progression is a community for professionals who absorb ambiguity and rarely get credit for it. Most career advice measures what you know. We measure what stops when you stop. The framework is called bands and muscles. There are five bands, and each one is a promise about how much ambiguity you absorb, not a level you are granted. Executes, you finish what you are given. Delivers, you own an outcome and not a task. Owns, you hold a problem when nobody is watching. Multiplies, other people get better because of you. Shapes, you change what the organization decides to do. Years, title and headcount are not on that list. Four muscles move you between them. Synthesis, Leverage, Judgment, Influence. Not four skills to collect. Four phases of one loop. You make sense of a mess, you make your reading usable by someone else, you decide before the information is complete, and you get the decision to hold after you have left the room. The test is not a form. It is a name. For any band you think you are at, name the person who could describe what changed because of you, cold, without your help and without you in the room. If you cannot name them, you are not there yet, however good the work is. What we refused to build, because every one of these would have made this easier to sell and less true. No score. Nobody gets reduced to a number. No leaderboard. You are not ranked against the person next to you. No machine verdict. A model does not get to decide what you are. No self-certification. You cannot place yourself. Two people who are not you have to be able to describe the change. Inside the community you get a placement exercise, resources every week, live sessions with people who do the work, and a paid membership for anyone who wants to spend real time on one weak muscle with a coach and a room of peers. Built by the team at Axelerant.
